RL608

Primary intent of AT RL608 development was to provide high reliability by maximum use of high-technology solutions. Static and dynamic strength, hardness, temperature load evaluation was made by advanced bundled software. As the result we got an easy-to-use, reliable, high technology and very compact design.

1. Technical specification.

• 6-speed AT RL608 is designed for all/rear wheel drive passenger cars with longitudal engine mounting, with mass up to 3.5 tons, with maximum torque of 300 Hm at the engine speed of 3500 rpm and with maximum power of 150 kw. (204 hp) at the engine speed is 6000 rpm.
• The run is not less than 300 000 km.

5. Design philosophy.

 The design philosophy of RL608 aligns it with the most perspective world’s analogues by mass and dimensions, reliability and efficiency indices.

• RL608 has got the best mass and dimensions index in its class – it is the most compact design.

• Operating oil pressure in RL608 does not exceed 1 MPa (10 atm), while most ATs have operating pressure of 2.0-2.5 MPa (20-25 atm). This relatively small pressure rate allows saving 3-5 % of engine power, which is usually lost by oil pump. This increases efficiency and reliability of RL608. 
• Low relative circumferential speed (under 30 m/s) between drive and driven components of disengaged friction clutches decreases loss of power, which turns into heat. This characterizes high reliability of friction plates functioning and provides for the incontestable advantage of RL608 by efficiency index as a whole.
• The multidisk friction clutch of the torque converter of RL608 allows blocking in the whole speed range of turbine and impeller. This solution improves fuel efficiency of the vehicle and increases the durability of the assembly.
